Complete rupture of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is common (more than 100 000 cases per year in USA). This condition occurs most often in young people following an accident connected with sports (football, skiing ...).

In most cases, the ACL reconstruction is done by auto-transplantation of tendons which leads to a loss of performance and a long rehabilitation period. The current artificial prostheses have not yet a sufficient life-time, in addition they do not allow cell recolonization. The objective of this project is to develop a prosthesis with a life-time of ten years or more.
